I am a qualified child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapist to doctoral level and a qualified integrative adult psychotherapist with accreditation and membership from the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) and the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP).
My doctoral research topic was psychotherapy with boys living alone with their mothers and I have a continuing interest in the impact of separation and divorce on children and their families.
At my consulting room in Wandsworth, South West London, I work with adults and children across the age range including adolescents and young adults as well as supervising other professionals.
I have significant experience in therapeutic work with parents and their infants, and currently work in the NHS at the Maudsley Hospital’s Perinatal Psychotherapy Service and in Surrey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services where I provide child & adolescent psychotherapy to children from 0-18.
I also worked at the Brent Centre for Young People www.brentcentre.org.uk This is a specialist organisation for adolescent and young people with over 45 years specialist experience in this field.
Working for more than 15 years as a psychotherapist in the NHS, schools, local authority and community organisations I have provided individual psychotherapy and group work to young people and adults as well as staff consultation to professionals working in different settings and in different roles from senior management to support staff.
I continue to offer consultation and supervision on an individual or group basis.
I currently supervise psychotherapists and also teach as a visiting lecturer on several post-graduate courses at the Tavistock Clinic, with previous teaching roles on counselling courses at Brunel University.
I accept private health insurance and am an approved provider with BUPA http://finder.bupa.co.uk/go/dr_danny_goldberger
